Through the AstraUTM LAANC application drone pilots may request airspace authorizations for flights in controlled airspace at, or below 400 feet. <\/span><\/br><\/br>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AstraUTM is available to both <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/uas\/recreational_flyers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recreational Flyers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/uas\/commercial_operators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commercial (Part 107)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> drone pilots. We offer near real-time airspace authorizations and further coordination.<\/span>\n<\/br><\/br>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LAANC is only available in the United States.<\/span>\n<\/br><\/br>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LAANC provides:<\/span>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drone pilots with access to controlled airspace at or below 400 feet.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awareness of where pilots can and cannot fly.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Air Traffic Professionals with visibility into where and when drones will operate.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AstraUTM is an FAA-approved UAS Service Supplier (USS) through which drone operators can apply for airspace authorizations in controlled airspace. LAANC enables automation for the application and approval process of airspace authorizations. Requests are checked against multiple airspace data sources in the FAA UAS Data Exchange such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/uas\/commercial_operators\/uas_facility_maps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UAS Facility Maps<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Special Use Airspace data, Airports and Airspace Classes, as well as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tfr.faa.gov\/tfr2\/list.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/notams.aim.faa.gov\/notamSearch\/disclaimer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notices to Airmissions (NOTAMs)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. elementor-widget-mobile__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c4d1ed9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drone pilots planning to fly under 400 feet in controlled airspace around airports must receive airspace authorization from the FAA before they fly.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LAANC automates the application and approval process for airspace authorizations and is available to pilots operating under the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/uas\/commercial_operators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Small UAS Rule Part 107<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or
